The Reduced Time Gap Between The Pfizer Vaccine And A Booster Dose

Now after certain rounds of meetings and discussions amongst various authorities, finally the US Food and Drug Administration has nodded yes to reduce the time gap between the initial dose and booster shots.

Earlier this week, the time period of isolation was reduced to 5 days for patients by the US Centers for Disease Control and Preventions and had to wear masks thereafter when out in public for the next five days which received a lot of backlash from major health officials and agencies in the country.

According to the sources, after this decision, another amendment came that made it mandatory for patients to undergo testing after 5 days isolation period and present the negative COVID report even if they have been asymptomatic if they want to go in public.

Following these amendments and health guidelines, another decision came by the US Food and Drug Administration that allowed the medical authorities to use Pfizer’s booster shots as an emergency use for children aged 12 to 15 years due to a sudden rise in the covid 19 cases. It has been analyzed that the rate of pediatric covid 19 cases has been increasing continuously and has even tripled in some states creating a worrisome situation for the parents and hospitals.

Also as per the latest reports, In addition to this, the time period of receiving booster shots after getting fully vaccinated has been reduced from six months to five months and it was already in demand by various top medical experts in the country. This decision from the FDA has been welcomed warmly by the country because the rising cases have now made everyone think more.

People aged 12 years and above fall under this category and can go ahead after fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid by the FDA. In the Month of November, the FDA expanded the eligibility for the 16-17 years teens to receive the booster shots and now the pandemic has made the agency take action and prevent kids from the omicron variant.

As the pandemic progresses, the authorities have also evolved and mended their ways accordingly. They have been continuously adapting to the best strategies available for people and letting them avail themselves of all the benefits. Keeping in mind the current wave of coronavirus, FDA is making calculated and informed decisions and has been urging people to follow precautions to avoid getting infected.
