The US children are suffering from a dangerous situation with the new COVID variant engulfing the whole world. Mostly, these kids are below the age of five years. The level of coronavirus is soaring at a rapid speed. According to the present trend, kids are not the age to give vaccines. Yet they need to be hospitalized immediately.
Admission Of Kids In The Hospitals Are Increasing At A Rocket Speed
The recent weeks of the pandemic brought an uncontrollable situation in the US. According to the current data published by the US government, the children requiring admission to hospitals are too young. Hence, it is not possible to vaccinate them. Under such a crisis period, it is hard for the health sector to manage everything.

Looking at the severity of the conditions, Dr. Rochelle Walensky advised the youngsters and the adults to take the jabs immediately. The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also added that vaccinated people could reduce the tendency to spread the virus among the children around them.
Omicron is the newly-discovered variant that came to horrify the world from mid-December last year. It was an unexpected development amidst the COVID scenario, creating chaos worldwide in the New Year. The US is witnessing a rapid spread of this highly contiguous virus throughout, affecting all age groups. As per the previous trend, only 2.5 out of the one lakh cases among the children were subject to COVID infection. However, the number increased to almost 4 and even more this time.
As a result, most American hospitals’ pediatric department is feeling acute pressure. Mostly the age of the patients ranges between newborns and 5-year-olds. However, concerning the little grown-up infants, the age is around five and seventeen years. The number of cases is likely to be 1 or 2. Hence, the more danger-prone situation is for the two young kids.
The Tuesday reports confirmed that the average hospitalization rates are around 766 due to COVID. All of them are under-18 patients. Evidently, doctors observed it twice the number around two weeks before.
CDC declared that the highest number of cases among children is in Georgia now. Moreover, the high rates are also prevalent in Tennessee, Connecticut, California, etc.
In the words of Walensky, not all children are admitted for COVID-19. However, after admission, they were found to be positive for the virus.
According to Seattle Children’s Hospital chief, the omicron variant is comparatively less severe than the deadly delta variant. However, viruses are changing their nature almost every day. Hence, no one can conclude that Omicron patients are entirely out of danger. The risk still prevails for the patients.
The constant increment in the number of infections due to Omicron proves that it is extremely contagious. Moreover, the widespread increase of the virus among the children allows the doctors to think that the kids are now in a danger zone. Kids with diabetes or suffering from obesity are more prone to this virus. The parents must keep such criteria in mind and take necessary measures to protect their children from being infected.
CDC explained that Pfizer shots provide more protection for children aged between 12 and 18 years. However, more than 40% of the total kids admitted are still unvaccinated due to their tender age. Around 55 kids faced deaths, although the majority of them recovered. Scientists are still conducting experiments to find out the exact impact of the virus under different conditions. Inflammation, pain in the abdomen, and high fever are the general symptoms of the present variant. Some may also get rashes. If any symptoms become prominent, immediate consultation with the doctors is mandatory.
