According to the latest reports released by the medical agencies in the United States, the Kids are in extreme danger and especially amongst the unvaccinated, as the omicron variant is targeting the children with low immune power.

The increased hospital admissions this week has been breaking the charts and the hospitals can be seen filling up the bed with the children.
As per the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the new data has been shocking for all of us as the percentage of hospital admissions amongst the kids and teens has already crossed the previous delta variant wave and this peak will be going to break more records for the hospitalization.
Although as per the CDC Director Walensky, as compared to the adults, the hospitalization rate is less amongst the young. Although the pediatric cases are increasing amongst the unvaccinated and hence a sudden surge has been claimed by the hospital administrations.
The hospital occupancy amongst the kids below 5 years of age is increasing very fastly and it must be noted that everyone above 5 years of age is eligible to receive the vaccination in the United. The vaccination for kids below 5 years is yet under clinical trials. As per the vaccine developers, the clinical trials conducted for this age group didn’t show good results to impart a greater level of antibodies in the immune system.
Dr. Walensky also stated that it is the responsibility of the adults to get vaccinated as soon as possible so that they can protect the kids around them who are unvaccinated or fall under the non-eligibility to receive the jabs.
There is a significant rise in the omicron variant cases amongst kids and this has doubled when compared to the previous wave. This new strain has been a major reason for the increasing hospital admissions.
The US Food and Drug Administration took the decision to allow emergency use of booster shots for the teens of 16-17 years in the month of December. And now, earlier this week the FDA allowed the use of booster shots for the 12-15 years age group.
As per the data released by the US CDC, the booster shots percentage amongst the adults revolve between 34-35 percent and it’s not good analytics because the expected rate was higher than this.
Dr. Fauci has been suggesting every eligible person receive the booster shots at the earliest as it offers complete protection against the new variant. As per him it builds instant antibodies and keeps our immune system strong to fight new strains of covid 19.
Now it is on parents how safe they want their kids to be and the vaccination is the only best tool to protect the children from getting affected by the omicron variant. Almost 90 percent of the cases amongst the kids have been found from the unvaccinated population.
