Reports tell that more than 300 such centers are presently operating in multiple areas of America. They are named the Centre for Covid Control. However, the information contained on the official portal is not sufficient to verify the authenticity of the organization.
Although it is visible on Google Maps, no specific information is available. The concerned lab’s name was not there anywhere. Their claim for being CDC-approved has no proof as such.
Some followers even stated that they took the tests by paying around 100 dollars. On social media, the Instagram account by the company’s name became viral. It came around December 2020 and claimed covid tests for free. However, the comment section says a different story. According to many people, it is a fake organization ending up taking money from the public fraudulently.
As per another citizen, the area for the center has located some buildings away from the location shown by Google Maps. Moreover, there were no proper precautions observed moreover, at the center. People were sitting without masks without any seriousness.
The complaints about not getting the test results within a reasonable time are very common these days. Often, the authorities instruct the guests to go for self-administration. It involves placing the test bag amidst a pile of so many bags already there on the tray. It is totally an unhygienic scenario to observe.
Even after sending several voicemails and emails to the directors of the organization, no one bothered to reply. Moreover, the media tried to contact the authorities over the phone. However, that try also went into vain. It is seen that the registered agent of this organization belongs to Florida. The name of the manager is Aleya Siyaj. No one of the two responded to any emails or calls. Therefore, it is now very difficult to state whether the Center for Covid Control is genuine or not.
Although the place of registration for this company is showing Illinois on paper, no such name exists on the official list. The Public Health Department of Illinois director is now ready to take strict action against such a fraudulent company. Moreover, every Government body warns the public to be cautious while taking any tests from a pop-up site. Unfortunately, some bunch of fraudsters is not leaving such a crucial period for scamming people.
