The number of Covid cases starts to decline in New York and some northeastern states of the US. Since the beginning of the pandemic US and especially, New York has been struggling to get a hold of the situation.

The Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul has been working day & night and has been taking various major preventive measures to save the lives of the citizens of New York.
When the state experienced its first case of the omicron variant, she directed the state medical agencies to buckle up and announce an emergency situation. She also announced that keeping in mind the transmissible nature of the new variant, the hospitals need to be ready with all the medical supplies and focus less on non-urgent medical situations.
As per some of the US healthcare officials, the Governor deserves applause as every day she analyzes the cases and the major developments being made to curb the number of cases in the state.
This week there has been a substantial decline in Covid cases in New York and many states in the US. The low 7 day average of weekly Covid cases has given a ray of hope to the citizens.
During the early start of the year 2022, the state of New York was experiencing more than 90,000 average daily cases and by this week the newly infected cases had come down.
Responding to the positive statistics Governor Hochul of New York decided to update the New Yorkers regarding the progress of Covid. Today, in her announcement the governor said, “We are delighted to see a good decline in daily Covid cases. We expect that our team and citizens will be able to curb the cases very soon.
She also stated that the state authorities will be more focusing on reviving the economy and plan better for the future development of the state. She also asserted the fact that though the pandemic will soon be in control, the citizens should remain attentive and agile.
Eligible citizens must take their booster vaccination at the earliest. We won’t be easing down the restriction till the time the complete nation is not out of the tough situation caused by the omicron variant.

The total number of cases reported in New York is 178,771. Out of which the number of positive cases is 22,312 which has reduced from the previous week’s average cases.
The total percentage of positive cases in New York as of now is 12.48% and on 2 January 2022, it was 24 percent. Positively, there has been a considerable decline in the hospitalization and mortality rate in New York state.
The 7-day average of the positive case in New York City is around 15.04%. The total percentage of Covid positive cases has dropped from 20% to 12.48%.
