Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Biden administration is working rigorously to limit the spread of the deadly covid 19 virus in the United States. Some health officials are not happy with the policies made by the President to curb the cases in the country which are ever-increasing.
Vaccine Mandate Leads Hospitals To Medical Staff Shortage!
The federal government has been continuously introducing some rules, mandates, and policies to safeguard the citizens and bring the situation under control, but these guidelines are being challenged by the state authorities and political leaders in the country.
Covid vaccine mandate was one of the most strategic moves by the Biden Administration which faced a lot of backlash and today itself a federal judge in Texas blocked the vaccine and testing mandate rule stating it is against the basic rights of the citizens.
According to the Vaccine Mandate, it was imperative for healthcare service providers and companies with more than 100 employees to ensure all their staff is fully vaccinated. Only those healthcare workers and employees must be allowed to work with those who have fully vaccinated themselves.
The previous week the supreme court blocked the vaccine mandate law for private employees and employers. Now as per the rule only healthcare workers are falling under this rule.
However, last week the Supreme Court passed its judgment on the Covid vaccine mandate. The decision of the court was in favor of the mandate. The court granted time till 15th march to ensure healthcare workers are fully vaccinated. Post 15th March only vaccinated healthcare staff will be able to offer their service. Due to this judgment, the health care service providers and institutions may face an acute shortage of healthcare staff.
In some parts of the country, major concerns have been raised regarding the shortage of frontline staff and medical supplies. Also as per the studies, it has been found that the upcoming days are very tough for some states in the US as the peak of the winter surge will hit these states because the omicron variant was found late and now the cases will rise further. The states are under an emergency situation and there will arise the need to have enough medical staff to attend the severe covid 19 patients.
The healthcare workers are in direct contact with the patients and in the past few weeks the cases amongst the nurses and other workers have increased and they have been isolated. Considering this issue the US CDC had cut down the isolation time to five days which was earlier 10 days.
This Covid vaccine Mandate was introduced to encourage vaccination and get more support for the vaccination drive. However, the mandate received tremendous opposition from several groups. Certain groups and communities were against the Covid vaccine Mandate. They refer to the mandate as a threat to the concept of federalism. Many opposition leaders believed that the Covid vaccine mandate curbs the fundamental rights of citizens. They argue that every citizen must have the right to choose health services.
