The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been leading the way to curb the covid 19 cases in the country and keeping an eye on every way how coronavirus is changing its nature with every passing day.
With the rise in the omicron variant cases in the country, the United States is still under a lot of pressure to save the lives of its citizens. Although the hospitalization rate is lower than the average rate during the previous winter and fall but steadily admissions are increasing and giving worrisome nights to the medical experts.
The Mortality Rate Is Increasing In The US: CDC Director Rochelle
The US CDC Director, Dr. Walensky stated that although some parts of the country have started to report a very less number of cases as compared to the previous weeks, it should be noted that the preventive measures and policies will remain the same to fight against the omicron variant of covid 19.
On the other hand, approximately 50 percent of the US states have started to report a higher number of cases and average around 70 percent increase.
In the state of Nevada, the cases are increasing at an average rate of 300 percent and the state medical authorities are in fear of missing out because the hospital administration has started to raise a concern about the hospitalization admissions and there can be an acute shortage of medical supplies and ICU beds. The country has started to receive more than 2260 average daily deaths and it is further rising every day.
Reducing cases of the new strain doesn’t give authorities the right to ease the laws and policies laid by the White House Administration for the safety of the American Citizens.
Dr. Rochelle also stated that even if the infection is milder and less severe than the delta strain of coronavirus, the hospitalization rate has started to see a rising graph. Also, in some states, the kid’s hospital admissions have tripled and are giving sleepless nights to the medical agencies and parents.
This high rate is basically amongst the kids less than 5 years and unvaccinated children. The kids lower than 5 years of age are only left to receive the initial doses of the vaccines.
During the press briefing at the White House, she announced that people need to understand the severity of the new variant and must follow all the protocols as much as they can.
We are still in a pandemic situation and there is a huge burden on the hospitals and medical staff to treat the covid 19 patients and besides keep themselves safe and intact. We all know the country has faced a shortage of healthcare workers but the Central Government helped every state and hospital to come out of this tough situation and provide the infected person with the best treatment and save their lives.
The American Population must receive the vaccination and fulfill the dream of the President of achieving a 100 percent vaccination rate in the country. Currently, the vaccination rate is between 63-64 percent and must increase in the upcoming weeks.
