Studies Show BA.2 Is 1.5 Times More Contagious Than The Original Strain
According to the analysis, more than 870,00 American population have lost their lives due to the deadly covid infection.
The peak is still present in the nation and the hospitalization admissions and mortality rate are again increasing and putting a lot of pressure on the government and medical authorities in the United States.
According to the latest reports available, a new variant of omicron strain has been detected by scientists during medical research and various things have come up.
The original omicron variant is said to be very contagious as compared to the delta version. Although the latter strain is very lethal and has killed more than 300,000 citizens in the country since its outbreak in the month of June 2021.
On the other hand, in just less than 6 months a new variant emerged in the world on 24 November 2021 and by 1st December it entered the home of the USA. By 12 December the omicron strain became the most dominant version of the covid 19 by infecting more than 200,000 citizens per day.
Currently, the average seven-day cases are around 850,000, giving sleepless nights to the White House and hospital administrations.
Although, according to medical experts in the US, the new variant of the omicron has already entered the bodies of the citizens and has traveled in almost 50 percent of the US states.
The omicron subvariant has been termed as BA.2 by researchers and scientists. The original omicron strain possessed highly transmissible power and has been infecting millions of people daily in the USA.
As per the initial studies conducted on the BA.2, it has been found that the subtype of the omicron is approximately 1.5 times more contagious than its original version. There are confirmed cases in most of the cases in the country and around 125 cases have been discovered by healthcare officials.
Also, there is no death has been reported because of the omicron subtype, BA.2. The experts are also stating that more results will be available in the future as we are working on a few more experiments.
The current data related to the BA.2 is just an initial discovery and more data is required to come to a final conclusion.
Officials are continuously suggesting that individuals get vaccinated and booster shots at the earliest so that they must be protected from future strains.
