Dr. Walensky, The Director of US CDC updated the latest developments and more strategies related to the covid 19 virus. The pandemic has been taking new twists and turns with every passing day. It has been found that a new subtype of the omicron variant has been found in most of the states and around 125 cases have been detected till now in the country.
Although, the initial studies state that BA.2 will be 1.5 times more contagious than the original omicron variant. As per the medical researchers in the country, these are just the initial studies and more data is required to analyze the new subtype deeply.
She also stated that the United States has more powerful tools and methods to beat the pandemic. The states and medical agencies are directly working with the White House so that the citizens must free themselves from the coronavirus infection at the earliest.
During the Press Briefing, she also announced that there is approximately a 6 percent decline in the seven-day daily average cases, which are 692,400 against the previous week’s average of 750,000. This is a positive sign for the Public Health Department and citizens.
According to her, this has been made possible by the continuous efforts of President Biden and his team. The Central Government has already announced to provide the American population with 1 billion free rapid testing kits so that there should be no shortage of testing facilities for the citizens.
Besides this, the Government will also provide the citizens with 400 million N95 masks over a span of 2 months and the markets will be flooded with the mask as it provides initial protection from the virus attack.
The vaccines, booster shots are available widely in the entire country so people must get vaccinated as soon as possible. For this various other measures have been taken. We are more focusing on encouraging Americans to follow covid 19 protocols and policies laid by the medical agencies.
The government is also working on protecting kids and vaccinating them so that the education system can be revived which has been on a halt because of the pandemic for 2 years.
According to the data released, around 70 percent of the eligible seniors in the country have received the booster dose. 80 percent of the US Citizens got at least a single shot of the vaccine. We urge everyone to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves from the virus in the long run.
