Anderson Cooper, CNN broadcast journalist announces the birth of his second child on air during the broadcast of AC360 on Thursday. The second child is a boy and his name is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper.
During the broadcast, Anderson Cooper revealed the news by saying, “I wanted to start out with some good news, which also happens to be very personal news”. Cooper showed the pictures of his first baby on air and said, “ This is Wyatt today. He is nearly 22 months old. He is sweet, funny, and the greatest joy of my life.
If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because now he has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him”. Cooper then showed the picture of his second baby and added, “This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8 pounds at birth and he was healthy and happy and even his occupational hiccups are, to me, adorable.

Anderson Cooper also revealed that he along with his former partner, Benjamin Maisani will be co-parenting both Sebastian and Wyatt. Cooper also said, “ Wyatt calls me ‘daddy’ and Benjamin ‘papa’.
We are a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper as well”. Cooper also thanked the doctors and surrogate mother for delivering his second child.
Followed by the announcement of the birth of his second child, Anderson Cooper posted a picture on Instagram with Sebastian where Cooper can be seen cuddling Sebastian. He posted the photo with the caption, “Cuddling with Sebastian the day after he was born”. Anderson also informed that he will be taking off for a few days and will be spending more time with his babies.
After the announcement of Sebastian’s birth, congratulatory messages poured in for Anderson Cooper on social media. Kelly Ripa, the actress shared a photo of her with Anderson Cooper to congratulate him.
American TV Journalist, Don Lemon tweeted the live video of Sebastian announcing the happy news with the caption, “ Congratulations @andersoncooper, Sebastian is lucky to have you as a dad”. Many others including journalist Kaitlan Collins and the official page of CNNWynn also shared their congratulatory message on Twitter.
Anderson Cooper and Benjamin Maisani will be co-parenting Sebastian just like how they are doing with Wyatt. While talking about co-parenting Wyatt, Cooper has said, “ We’re exes, but we’re family to each other, and we love each other as family and co-parents”.

Later in 2018, the couple announced that they are no longer together and confirmed that they both ended up being boyfriends a long time ago. Fans speculated that Cooper and Maisani ended things in 2017, as the two didn’t post any photos together after 2017. Cooper and Maisani had their children through surrogate mother, and in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres Cooper had said that one of the reasons Cooper broke up with Maisani was that Maisani didn’t want a child.
Cooper also added that Benjamin Maisani is a great parent and they both still are good friends and are in a happy relationship as co-parents. When asked if the pair will get back together or not, Cooper has confirmed that that will not be happening.
