The Peaky Blinders Pays Homage To Late Helen McCrory: The Season 6 Starts With Aunt Polly’s Absence

The return of the sixth season brought heartbreaking memories of Polly Gray and her absence. Harry Kirton, who played Finn Shelby, commemorated Aunt Polly as “Helen was lovely, a lovely aunt to have, just in real life, anyway.”

Helen McCrory who played Polly Shelby in the series had a pivotal role. The grace McCrory brought in the character was immortal.

The team offers sincere condolences to the irreplaceable actress launching the sixth season as a tribute to her. 

The First episode marks the end of Polly Gray titling it the ‘The Black Day.’ Cillian Murphy’s character Tommy Shelby bursts into tears hearing the news of Polly getting killed and her body delivered to his home.

Polly’s son Michael blames ambitious Tommy Shelby for this unbearable loss. 

Micheal bursts out warning Tommy Shelby “I swear on the Almighty, No matter how many lies I have to tell, no matter what it takes, I will take revenge on Tommy.”

It is rumored to be the culmination of the masterclass and the whole cast is determined to make this one special.

The whole cast sobbed in the opening episode, “it must’ve been hard for them to continue in the absence of Helen.” A fan said. 

Harry Kirton, the 23-year-old said his character Finn Shelby is someone who needs a lot of guidance in the story and Polly’s presence is missed. “I think others felt the same in their own way.” He added. 

The covid outbreak has disrupted the filming for quite a long time and until this happened there was hope that Helen will be in the last season but she couldn’t. The writer Steven Knight added. 

The show paid tribute to the character with a three-minute silence and lighting a Gypsy caravan with her body and belongings.
