Naseeruddin Shah was born into a Nawab family on 20 July 1950. Shah was born in Barabanki Town, Uttar Pradesh to parents Aley Mohammed Shah and Farrukh Khan and he has three brothers.
Born in Uttar Pradesh, Shah spent the majority of his childhood in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. Naseeruddin Shah did his schooling at St.Anselm’s Ajmer School, Rajasthan and St.Joseph’s College, Uttarakhand. After finishing school, Shah joined Aligarh Muslim University in Uttar Pradesh.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Aligarh Muslim University and went on to pursue a career in acting, so he joined the National School of Drama in Delhi.
Shah is a follower of the Islam religion and his zodiac sign is Leo. Presently, Naseeruddin Shah is living in Mumbai with his wife and children.

Naseeruddin Shah made his debut in cinemas in the 1967 film Aman and Shah had a minor role in the movie. Shah got his first movie with a major rule when he was 25 and it was in the movie Nishant directed by Shyam Benegal.
