As heartbreaking as it is, the ending of Spiderman: No Way Home brings us a Peter Parker who comes closest to the Spidey of the comics. But fear not, such a conclusion opens up a huge range of possible futures for new Spiderman movies. Kevin Feige even shed some light on what the future holds for our friendly neighborhood web-slinger.
Let out his scientific side?
Now that Peter Parker is essentially unknown to everyone thanks to Doctor Strange’s spell, there are several possibilities open to us. This would be a good time for his character to further explore his scientific interests and embark on solo adventures and experiments.
Kevin Feige even said he envisions Peter Parker as a scientist or a teacher. Maybe that might be a bit of a stretch seeing as Peter just graduated from high school, we saw him preparing for college admissions in No Way Home.
Therefore, focusing on his life as a young adult, a struggling but brilliant student with no one to turn to, is possible. Such a future would no doubt reinforce the duality of Spider-Man’s life, as he is a character canonically hailed for his anonymity.
The future adventures of Spidey?
Reprising his role as the friendly neighborhood spider-man, we bet future Spider-man roles will bring him closer to the streets. It’s even more likely with the recent announcement of Daredevil.
So, maybe our Spiderman is done with his share of cosmic and alien adventures for now. And maybe a new scaled-down storyline for Spiderman 4 will be refreshing for viewers.
How does Spiderman fit into the multiverse saga now that no one knows Peter Parker?
During the events of No Way Home, we saw MCU’s Spider-Man get his fair share of multiversal experiences. This is what has now brought him to where he is – more alone than ever.
Now, with the new Spiderman movie still in the early stages of development, we have to remember that Sony still owns the rights to the character. This means that they can also decide on its level of involvement in other multi-functional projects.
