Proud Muslim Arizona Attorney General Candidate Background

The Republican Party’s nominee for Arizona Attorney General in 2022 is Abraham Hamadeh, also known as Abe Hamadeh. He is Muslim. Its goal is to unite the state by allowing individuals of multiple faiths to coexist.

Abraham is a U.S. Army Reserve intelligence officer who just returned from a 14-month tour of duty in Saudi Arabia. Abraham oversaw the training of Saudi internal security forces in the Kingdom and the United States while negotiating military sales on behalf of the United States military.

Abraham is a member of the board of trustees of the Dean’s Council of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University. Abraham previously served on the advisory board of the Center for Political Thought and Leadership at Arizona State University, which created a program honoring and studying the ideas and writings of America’s Founding Fathers.

Abraham served as an attorney for Maricopa County in the past. Abraham testified in court to hold offenders accountable, advocate for victims’ rights and promote community justice.

Hamadeh holds an undergraduate degree in political science from Arizona State University and a law degree from the University of Arizona College of Law. Abraham received the Udall Fellowship as a law student from the Arizona Attorneys’ Advisory Council, which allowed him to work for local, regional, state, and federal prosecutors.
