Dominique Thorne, aka Riri Williams (Ironheart), will satisfy fans’ desire to see mechanical armor flying across the battlefield.
She is heavily inspired by Tony Stark, aka Ironman in the comics, as she is also an MIT alum, just like Tony.
Shuri and Riri are introduced as friends in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Probably, they were friends at MIT and are now pursuing the war in Wakanda together.
Riri will be seen as Ironheart with her MK-1 armor, flying and fighting bad guys. The trailer didn’t show any glimpses of his armor, but we’ll definitely see it before the film’s release.
The big question: Will Riri Williams be the next Tony Stark?
Without a doubt, Shuri and Riri are super awesome friends. And it’s not strange to see them working together in a laboratory.
Tony Stark was ahead of his time and learned from his mistakes. He technically had the knowledge to counter all the problems and situations he faced.
And to prove it, you have to remember how he almost died in space sending the nuke through the great space hole. And in Avengers: Infinity War, we saw him flying through space with a working suit.
And it proves that Tony Stark has always been the best of them all. Even though Shuri and Riri are brilliant beyond their years, they’re still inexperienced in the situations Tony has handled throughout his journey.
Thus, it would be wrong to compare Riri Williams to Tony Stark. Instead, we can say that Ironheart can be a sort of successor to Tony Stark’s Iron Man and will give hope to the world.
Can Marvel plan something for Ironheart in the future?
Yes, Ironheart will definitely get a solo movie where Marvel could tie Tony Stark’s family history to Riri. Tony’s daughter could wear the armor to continue her legacy.
We will definitely know Ironheart’s future after witnessing the aura created by this character in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
