It was rumored that Bill Nye was detained between 2014 and 2020. In the end, it was a fake as the official news did not reach the media.
According to a satirical news website named Huzlers, the science popularizer was accused of producing and distributing illegal substances.
Nye was reportedly arrested at his Los Angeles residence when investigators began to suspect Nye’s involvement in the sale and production of illegal substances. Investigators eventually discovered pounds of illegal drugs and cash, including $6 million in cash, in a hidden basement of Bill Nye’s home.
The same story arose and spread again on social media in September 2019. They all angrily claimed that Bill, the famous Science Guy, the TV host, had been arrested because he was suspected of produce and distribute illegal narcotics.

News of Nye’s arrest grew progressively more prominent over time. Nye’s alleged arrest was briefly described by several social media users. Much speculation about the TV personality has been offered since news of his detention was announced.
None of these claims, however, have been backed up by any reputable news report. Only the Huzlers website, which advertises its material as satire, published them. It follows that the news about Nye’s arrest was a blog that covered only false reports.
