Morbius Star Matt Smith has shared his thoughts on the film’s negative critical reception and how it became a box office bomb.
If you’ve been on the internet since April 1 this year, you’ve probably noticed a few memes related to Morbus. Sadly, these memes don’t celebrate the movie, but instead poke fun at it due to its abysmal critical reception and box office bombardment. The film, which starred Jared Leto and Matt Smith, was the third entry into Sony’s Spider-Man film universe.
Matt Smith, who is currently promoting his upcoming HBO original series Dragon House, reflected on Jared Leto’s negative performance Morbius, but wants to move on and not get so down:
“Yes, he was thrown under the bus. But you just have to roll with it. What else are you gonna do? It’s a film, in the end, we don’t save lives. For some reason it didn’t quite work out and… It is what it is.
Before joining Jared Leto in Morbius, Matt Smith also had a huge disappointment with Terminator: Genisys. The film, which was set to relaunch the franchise with a new trilogy, was a critical and commercial disappointment. Luckily, Smith has been in on another great franchise that will hopefully fare better in the next one. game of thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon.
