Brittney Griner was born female, a female. She is the daughter of Sandra Griner and Raymond Griner. She does not identify as either male or transgender. She’s more of a lesbian.
Brittney came out of the closet and first came out with her sexuality to the public during an interview on February 11, 2013. For a long time, she faced harassment because of her sexual preference.
In 2013, she chose the courage to reveal her true identity, which came as a huge shock to her parents and further led to differences between her and her father.
Although her father didn’t welcome Brittney with open arms, Brittney debunked the main rumor surrounding her life. She is not transsexual simply because her personality differs from that of other women.
While in high school, she began to undergo rapid changes, and soon became unusually taller than her friends. It didn’t stop there; she was much stronger and tougher than a woman usually expects. As early as high school, Griner was the subject of much criticism for his appearance.
Moreover, she dresses like a man and plays basketball with a manly air. According to her, the only time she wore a woman’s dress was at her mother’s request, which made her so uncomfortable that she said, “never again.”
