After 36 years, Eilish McClogan has won the same trophy as her mother. The mother-daughter story is hailed as incredible by many.
According to The Guardian, Liz McClogan is the coach of her daughter Eilish, who won the thrilling 10,000m race at Commonwealth Birmingham 2022 with a time of 30 minutes, 48.60 seconds. After crossing the finish line, she sprinted towards her mother, who was also her coach.

As a mother and daughter athletic team, Liz, a former athlete, is bonded to Eilish. Ironically, they are both distance and middle distance runners.
Both have competed for their country at international level, but unlike Liz, Eilish still has a long way to go before catching up with her mother.
Her mother, a former Olympic silver medalist in the 10,000 meters, is the coach of the young runner. Her father was a former obstacle hunter, so it seems she was following in their footsteps.
In 1995 and 1997, the mother of the 2022 Commonwealth Gold Medalist won the event twice. The 31-year-old athlete can repeatedly beat his coach’s record thanks to his mother’s training.

Eilish’s day in the Commonwealth came on August 3, 2022, when she won gold in Birmingham. The same title was also won by Liz in Edinburgh 36 years before, in 1986.

In 1987 Liz married Northern Irish sportsman Peter McColgan. When participating in their respective sports careers, the two athletes can be expected to cross paths. Eilish, Martin, Eamonn, Kieran and Orla were the couple’s five children; they were romantically involved.
Their eldest son, Eilish, also works in the same field. She stepped in as a mid- and long-distance runner, just like her mother. The couple’s eldest child won first place in her age group at the British Cross Country Championships in 2004.
Sadly, the sporty couple broke up in November 2010 which came as a huge shock to their supporters. And they completed their divorce in March 2013.
But on January 18, 2014, Liz married John Nuttall, a former distance runner from the UK, less than a year after her divorce.

Professional athlete Liz Nuttall, formerly McClogan, plays football. Those who play similar games have rallied around her. Regarding her romantic past, it is known that she is married to former Northern Irish steeple hunter Peter McColgan and is in a relationship with him.
But in 2014, the former distance runner married John Nuttall after divorcing him in 2013 and splitting from him in 2010. He was previously a runner. Nevertheless, he was a British Athletics endurance coach.
He is currently a coach in Qatar. In the process, she also became the stepmother of para-athlete Luke, the son of her current boyfriend.
