Thor: Love and Thunder Director Taika Waititi has teased the MCU’s plans for Hercules.
Marvel Studios’ latest blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder was not as acclaimed as its predecessor, Ragnarok. The films, both directed by Taika Waititi, received different responses from critics, with the 2017 film being acclaimed for being a new take on the God of Thunder, while the latter film was widely criticized for its humor and sound. uneven tone. The film still had its fans, many of whom were enthusiastic about the mid-credits scene that introduced Hercules (Brett Goldstein).
During a Q&A at a screening of the film, Taika Waititi was asked what the mid-credits scene for Hercules might entail in the future. To which he responded with the following, teasing an MCU project he probably won’t be involved in:
“So what [Louis D’Esposito?] is like, we’re going to introduce Hercules, and uh, that didn’t make sense to me, I didn’t even know he was a Marvel character, but uh, apparently it is, and uh… That was fine , I know this is opening up a whole new thing, uh, that I won’t be invited to come and be a part of, but I’m happy for anyone who loves Greek Gods.
Taika Waititi’s comments regarding the MCU’s plans for Hercules are quite interesting. When you take into account that around the last month there were a lot of titles dropped off for Marvel Studios, one of them was Hercules: The Ascension of the Gods. Whether or not this refers to a new movie or TV series remains unknown, but this brand has also been listed alongside now-confirmed titles such as Captain America: New World Order, Avengers: Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars.
