Grant Gustin finally shared his thoughts on The Flash series ends with season 9.
The DC franchise is undergoing major changes as new CEO David Zaslav takes over the IP. This week the shocking news broke that the studio wouldn’t be releasing Batgirl despite filming already, but that wasn’t the only major cancellation. On Monday, it was announced that Grant Gustin’s long-running series The Flash was ending its ninth season.
Barrys’ run is almost over
Grant Gustin first played Barry Allen in a backdoor pilot for the eventual series centered on The Flash. The series was a major hit for The CW but eventually ran its course. The ninth season will consist of 13 episodes. On Instagram, Gustin finally stepped out to talk about the news and shared the following:
“This week we announced that Season 9 of the flash will be the final season, which is bittersweet. It’s been nearly ten amazing years of playing this character and being part of this show with an amazing cast and crew, and so much love from you – from the fans, from the people who love the show. That’s the only reason we have to do this as long as we’ve been doing it. And I’m very excited to do it one last time, to finish on our terms, and I’m going to enjoy every minute as much as I can. I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting the show and allowing us to go as long as we have and I couldn’t be more honored to be associated with this character probably for the rest of my life and my career.
Here is a synopsis of the season eight finale of The flash:
