The film, which was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, has seen its completion and was finishing its post-production process. Batgirl Easter eggs revealed?
Singer, songwriter and actress Leslie Grace, whose role the world enjoyed in the musical drama In the heights, was to direct the premise of the now-canned HBO Max film. She was accompanied by other actors such as JK Simmons as James Gordon, Michael Keaton who was to see his return as Batman, and Brendan Fraser who was to play Firefly, a notable DC supervillain.
Upon its unfortunate cancellation – a decision that was made keeping in mind the latest strategies laid out by the Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav – Matthew Belloni, Spotify Podcast Host The city sheds light on potential Easter eggs fans would have seen in Batgirl. The former THR editor mentioned how he spoke to someone who witnessed a test screening of the film and apparently the stakes were pretty low. Additional details also point to how the film would have been shot in the DCEU after the events of flash, which would explain Michael Keaton’s involvement as Batman in both projects.

Among the many reveals that have surfaced, one of them hinted at a Catwoman Easter egg in bat girlespecially the one played by Michelle Pfeiffer in the film directed by Tim Burton Batman returns. Here is what Belloni said in his podcast:
“They show Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman mask, a nice little Easter egg, although Michelle Pfeiffer isn’t in the movie.”
Besides the Catwoman reference which may have been a big trip down the nostalgia lane, bat girl was also supposed to have a reference to Jason Todd, a very distinguished character in the DC Universe who became the second Robin after Dick Grayson. However, the character himself was not meant to make an actual appearance in the film.
A “convoluted” premise…?

The plot indicates DC fans would have been rewarded, had it not been for the cancellation of the film, would have revolved around Barbara Gordon and her “several boyfriends” – one of them was possibly the character that was to be played by actor and stage actor Ethan Kai. The film also aimed to focus on Batgirl’s multiple encounters with “mafia bosses”.
One of the biggest details uncovered in Belloni’s podcast also hints at how Fraser’s Firefly as a villain was going to be. Apparently the movie’s supervillain was just a guy in a suit who “may or may not have killed Batgirl mother very early.“This setup would have mainly allowed for a different origin story for the superheroine.
While such claims of a complex and convoluted plot are only speculative, these details add to the list of DC fan woes. Although the stakes may have been minimal, the bat girl The film, written by Christina Hodson, could have had some redeeming qualities that, sadly, fans no longer get to witness…at least, for now.
