Walter Hamada would remain in DC amid recent changes under the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav.
On Thursday, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav has teased the company’s plans for DC, revealing they’ll be creating a Marvel Studios-inspired 10-year plan. Warner Bros. also recently deleted bat girlsharing that they won’t release movies they don’t believe in. A story then came out earlier today revealing that current DC Films head Walter Hamada almost quit the role after learning bat girl would not be released.
Will Hamada stay in DC?
packaging learned that the co-presidents and CEOs of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy, would like Walter Hamada to stay at the studio. There would also be no time limit for a decision, although it is shared that he would leave after the release of black adam.
Walter Hamada came to DC in 2018, and under his leadership the studio released Aquaman, Shazam!, Joker, Birds of prey, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squadand The Batman. If Hamada stays in DC, it’s unclear what role he would play with David Zaslav looking for a Kevin Feige-like figure to lead the IP.
