The now canceled bat girl film would have been tested as well as the first cut of Black Adam.
DC Comics fans are still reeling from the surprise announcement that the movie bat girl, which has wrapped production and was set to wrap up in post-production, has been officially canceled and will not see a release on HBO Max or the big screen. Warner Bros. Discovery will cancel the film for taxes, likely as a repudiation of the previous regime. As for how this will affect upcoming DC movies, titles like black adam are sure.
Some publications have reported that bat girl was pulled not only for monetary reasons, but also because Warner Bros. Discovery was unhappy with the quality of the film. However, this is not necessarily the case. In a Twitter space that Heroic Hollywood founder and editor Umberto Gonzalez participated in, he explained to Erik Davis that “black adam, director’s cut black adam, tested the same as Bat girl.”
bat girl was tested with unfinished visual effects and a temporary score, and was able to score in the 60s with the public. This is comparable to test screenings of Stephen King’s 2017 film adaptation This, who the flash director Andy Muschietti was at the helm during. Regarding the tests as well as the assembly cut of black adam, because this film was always intended for a big screen release, he was able to have the resources to make improvements and updates to the film, which director Jaume Collet-Serra confirmed was at the lock of the image the day before the film premiered in Hall H at Comic-Con in San Diego more than two weeks ago.
It remains a pity that bat girl ended up falling victim to the Warner Bros. merger. Discovery, and shows how sadly chaotic the state of the DCEU has been due to the many regime changes over the past few years that have affected the trajectory of the franchise.
Here is the synopsis of Black Adam:
