The shelving of bat girl late in the film’s post-production process shocked fans and filmmakers everywhere. The CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav said the move was part of the company’s change strategy for DC, which now includes creating a 10-year plan for DC releases.
Following the merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery, the company’s new approach to DC properties has jeopardized existing plans for multiple DC releases. A Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover film would have been among them.

Walter Hamada was apparently set to step down as president of DC Films following the sudden dismissal of bat girlalthough he was convinced to stay at least until the exit of Dwayne Johnson black adam this October. As Zaslav now pursues a new direction for DC, it’s Hamada’s previous plan that is thrown out the window.
Prior to the Warner Bros. merger. Discovery, Walter Hamada had apparently sought to start releasing three or four DC movies each year. He had been tasked with setting the company on a new course after Zack Snyder’s plans for DC were scrapped following the release of Justice League.
Walter Hamada’s roadmap for DC reportedly included a Crisis on Infinite Earths film. This comic crossover event brought in DC characters from all corners of their publishing history and ended with an overhaul of their comic continuity. The storyline is an obvious candidate to rival Marvel’s crossover epics like Avengers: Endgame.
While further details of Walter Hamada’s plans for DC are unknown, it now seems likely that none of his plans for the company’s future will be realized. That means plans to bring Crisis on Infinite Earths to the big screen have been totally abandoned remains to be seen.
