Despite their recent spate of run-ins with the law, Ezra Miller reportedly completed covers on the flash over the summer, shortly before they were charged with burglary.
the flash is slated for release in June 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery assuring fans that the film will not join the likes of bat girl and other DC projects currently shelved. The news that the flash is still set to hit the big screen came as a surprise, given the recent arrests of star Ezra Miller and the grooming and child endangerment allegations leveled against them.
Recently, Ezra Miller was charged with burglary after stealing alcohol. Shortly before these charges were made, however, Miller was still working on the flashreturning to film for reshoots over the summer.
Ezra Miller was originally arrested in Hawaii earlier this year. They were arrested twice in a row, following two separate violent incidents.
Since these arrests, the star of the flash faced allegations of grooming and child endangerment and was the subject of at least one order of protection. On August 7, Miller was charged with burglary after liquor bottles were stolen from a Vermont home in May.
Ezra Miller is not expected to return to DC for future projects after the release of the flashbut to many it will come as a surprise that Warner Bros. Discovery is always happy to publish the flash with the actor at all, especially at a time when so many DC projects are being scrapped over much less serious issues.
The fact that the reshoots were completed after Miller’s initial arrests suggests there was never any doubt at Warner Bros. Discovery that the flash would go ahead as planned with Miller in the lead role. The company has come under fire for refusing to comment on Miller’s recent actions.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay written by Birds of prey scribe Christina Hodson, the flash is inspired by Breaking point comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint dramatically changed the status of the DC Comics Universe and led to the launch of all 52 new titles.
Besides Ezra Miller, the flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two distinct versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
the flash opens June 23, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to the Heroic Hollywood YouTube channel for more original video content.
