Directed by Wes Carven, the Scream The series began in 1996. The film was praised for its self-referential approach to horror and for having much smarter characters. It starred Neve Campbell as Sydney and Courteney Cox as Gale weather.

The film went to revive the horror genre and resulted in many imitations. Originally intended to play the last girl in the film, Drew Barrymore was replaced by Neve Campbell who ended up playing a significant role in all future episodes.

After living through a nightmare in the studio, Cry 5 has been announced to return with the original cast for the fifth installment of the series, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. But, after the recent announcement of Cry 6Neve Campell has decided to leave the franchise.

Although she won’t be returning to the franchise, the actor has plenty of exciting productions to come, including Netflix’s. Lincoln’s lawyer and peacock twisted metal with Anthony Mackie. She also starred in the highly successful Netflix show Card castle before its end.
Discrimination against a female role
The actress said in June that she would not star in the upcoming Scream film. Claiming that she was not given an unfair amount to return for the franchise, despite having worked very hard in her career and being the franchise lead in many episodes.

Commenting on the gender pay gap, she felt undervalued. She considered this to be another reason she wasn’t coming back and told People magazine:
“Honestly, I don’t believe that if I was a man and had done five installments of a hugely successful franchise over 25 years, the number I was offered would be the number that would be offered to a man.”

Additionally, the actor acknowledged the love and support fans have given him and the franchise for over 25 years, saying she will be forever grateful to them, but needs to move on. .
Cry 6 is set to release on March 31, 2023.
