Jamie Foxx talking about his new Netflix comedy Day shift opened up about his accidental leak and the chaos that followed before the film was released. He said:
“It was crazy. It was like a- it was like a rock concert when we made that movie. And I thought Sony did a fantastic mystical job. You know what I’m saying? Holding things, keep things – you know, I almost ruined everything. … As soon as I got on set and there were the three Spider-Mans, I was like that (picks up the cell phone). ‘Oh , we here, baby, ’bout to go live…’ And someone dove on me like I was fire.
“I was like, ‘What is this?’ “Shh! No one’s supposed to know. ‘Okay, my bad. Okay, we’re not supposed to know they’re all three here! But I think they did a great job doing that, bringing a certain mystique, and I think that’s what was needed to bring people back to the theater.

And it worked ! Spider-Man: No Coming Home turned out to be the film that brought the largest audience numbers back to the theater in herds following the COVID restrictions that affected the theater business. The film grossed over $1 billion worldwide and tickets quickly sold out for the shows.
