Judge Dredd strikes again
The plot of Dred follows the town of Mega City One, where crimes run amok. The city is controlled by special police officers who act as judge, jury and executioner. One of the most notorious and feared judges among them is Judge Dredd (Karl Urban). The story, later, follows Judge Dredd encountering a person with psychic abilities and so on.

In a recent interview with QGthe question of a possible sequel to Dred was asked and that’s what the actor had to say.
“I would definitely be interested in seeing the character again. There’s such a depth of material that’s been created by John Wagner and various writers over the years, especially the stories revolving around Judge Death and a lot of great stories. For me , I don’t mind if I get to play Dredd again or if it’s someone else, I just want to see those stories.

According to the interview, part of the success of the original film was due to Karl Urban being a big fan of the comics. The actor had no problem wearing Judge Dredd’s broken and rusty helmet since the opportunity to portray the character was more than enough for him at the time.
There wouldn’t be Dred films planned or in pre-production, no matter how much the the Lord of the Rings the actor wants it to happen.
Karl Urban is known for playing the role of Éomer in The Lord of the Rings franchise, Executioner to Thor: Ragnarok, and is more recently and famous for portraying William Butcher in The Boys (2019-).
