Spider-Man’s friend and former government agent Cassandra Webb aka Madame Web has a standalone movie, currently in the works, and it’s going to have your favorite star Sydney Sweeney in the supporting role, right behind Dakota Johnson who’s going to play the main role role in the film.
The film is named after the character himself. Madame Web was first announced in 2019 by Sony Pictures and will be the latest addition to Sony’s Spider-Man universe.

With Sydney Sweeney in the cast, it’s bound to be a hit, but who else is there?
Dakota Johnson’s name in the cast is an instant hit, and rising star Sydney Sweeney is also in, a double hit! But hey, we can’t just have two people to play each other’s roles in the new movie, can we?

Madame Web will also feature a host of other actors, including Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Mike Epps and finally, Emma Roberts.
It’s not a bad line-up, but the two big elephants in the room are sure to raise eyebrows in the new film. Madame Web will be directed by SJ Clarkson and is slated for release in 2023.

Who is Julia Carpenter, the character Sydney Sweeney is cast as?
She is the second Madame Web after Cassandra Webb and a recurring character in the Marvel superhero comic book franchise. Julia first appeared in Secret Marvel Superhero Wars Comic #6 in October 1984.

She assumes the role of an ally who fights alongside Peter Parker and the other heroes when the Secret Wars crossover event occurs. It is revealed in the comics that she gained her powers as a test subject in an experiment involving spider and plant DNA.
Honestly, with that hair and all that badass chic vibe, Sweeney is going to blow up the internet in this role, and we can’t contain our excitement.
