Barbara Gordon had a dream, and she was going to have it all: internet stardom, box office success, memes and so on. But with the sudden and shocking cancellation of Warner Bros. Discovery of bat girlthat dream is no longer a reality and is now a meme among DC geeks about what could have been (as for Marvel geeks, they’re kidding).
But the boat hasn’t sailed yet, the anchors are still in place! Warner Bros. Discovery is still considering bringing back the character, who will still be played by Leslie Grace (maybe?) in one of the following ways: a Batgirl movie as a standalone actor, a cameo/supporting role in future DCEU projects, or an ambitious new WB project. The 27-year-old actor will always play the role of Barbara Gordon in these new adventures, but that could also change.

Why was Batgirl canceled in the first place?
The cancellation of bat girl is definitely disappointing, and Leslie Grace probably isn’t happy about it either. According to reports, one of the many reasons that led to the film’s cancellation was mainly due to feedback from test audiences who felt the film was below average in terms of being a big-budget film.

Well, if that’s what happened to me, I’d be pretty pissed after all the hard work. But Grace is above it all, and a recent Instagram post from the American actress has broken her silence after all the drama surrounding the film’s release has died down. The caption reads-
Querida family! On the heels of the latest news regarding our film ‘Batgirl’, I’m proud of the love, hard work and intent that all of our amazing actors and tireless crew put into this film for 7 months in Scotland. I feel blessed to have worked among great absolutes and forged lifelong relationships in the process! To all Batgirl fans – THANK YOU for the love and belief, which allowed me to take the course and become, as Babs said best, “my own fucking hero!”
#Batgirl for life! 🦇
This is surely a mature reaction, and we wish Grace every success in her future endeavours.
