She-Hulk: Lawyer Showrunner Jessica Gao recently teased what fans can expect to see from Charlie Cox’s Daredevil on the show.
Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga is set to feature plenty of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil after the beloved Netflix series was canceled four years ago. Cox returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Coming Homeand will play the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the next She-Hulk series. Daredevil is also getting its own Disney Plus series with born again and will appear in the Spider-Man: Year One animated series.
Rumor has it that Daredevil will appear in She-Hulk: Lawyerand the trailer shown at San Diego Comic-Con finally confirmed that, along with the tease of his classic yellow costume. She-Hulk editor-in-chief Jessica Gao spoke with The Direct and first shared his reaction to Charlie Cox’s Daredevil joining the show:
“Well, first of all, we were shocked that we could use it. Like, when we first heard it was on the table, I mean, we couldn’t believe it. We didn’t ‘ We kept thinking, ‘Okay, at some point, someone is going to say, ‘Just kidding.’ Like, ‘That’s a cruel joke, and you can’t have it.’ And it just went on and on.
Why so serious?
by Netflix daredevil the series was very much in line with Frank Miller’s run on the character, but according to the trailers, She-Hulk will have a much more comedic tone. Gao went on to share that Daredevil won’t be as dark and serious when he appears in the Marvel Studios series:
“And Charlie is so wonderful. He’s so ready to do anything, and he’s such a wonderful actor and a wonderful human being. What was so fun about bringing him and Daredevil into our world is that people have already seen a Daredevil that’s very dramatic, a bit heavy, very dark, brooding. And it was so fun to be able to do – and we do with every character cameo in the MCU – is we take them from the environment that you know them in, which is a much more dramatic and action-oriented role , a lot more on the serious side, and we bring them into our world and they play in a She-Hulk tone. And they got to explore and we can see a lighter side of that character.
