The Dragon’s Promise
The 10-episode long series will witness a Martin premise Fire & Blood novel, which plans to delve into House The story of Targaryen and show us the Dance of the Dragons event. After the death of their father Viserys I Targaryen, the brothers Aegon II and Princess Rhaenyra are about to engage in a civil war for control of the throne. Targaryen’s history will be explored in the series, but what really gets fans excited are the heavily teased dragon battles.

In a recent interview with Nerdist, Ryan J. Condal was asked about the Promise of Dragons, to which he responded with the following:
“I mean…there are a lot of them. They are large and numerous. And hungry. And, uh… biting.
However, the showrunner also explained and expanded on the title of the series and what it truly symbolizes, far beyond the existence of physical dragons.
“This [the title] not talking about beasts on a physical scale. It’s really about the dragon being the Targaryen – the dynasty that once held absolute power over Westeros and due to its own internal failings, uh, you know, lost the power of the dragons, and then lost the dynasty, as a result.

When Ryan J. Condal was asked what kind of storytelling fans can look forward to in Dragon Househere’s what the showrunner had to say:
“As the pilot suggests, I think we’re going to learn a lot more about Aegon the Conqueror, although he’s definitely not a character in the show, as he’s been long dead. I think you’ll learn a lot more about the Targaryen’s perspective…of their prototype, their archetype, basically.
According to him, the series will focus on House Targaryen and their connection to Aegon, which they “think of him” – which might not be as much as fans think the Targaryens may know. “They don’t know as much as you might think” what Condal had to say about the tradition. Many characters can be seen trying to learn more about their history to counter enemies and competitors within their own house.
Fans have a lot to look forward to from the series, it seems. Dragon House will be released on HBO Max on August 21, 2022.
