Over the past few weeks, the state of DC Comics-based film and television has been a bit of a whirlwind. When the news first broke that the bat girl the movie was canceled as it neared completion, questions about the rest of DC’s slate arose, with some worried about the future of the fan-favorite animated series, Harley Quinn.
Harley Quinn, which features the voice of The Big Bang Theory and The stewardess Star Kaley Cuoco as the title character, has received praise from critics and fans alike for her irreverent view of the DC Universe through the eyes of a certain Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern, who are executive producers and developed the harley quinn told The Wrap that they remain hopeful for the show’s future, regardless of concerns over Warner Bros.’ new regime. Discovery:
Patrick Schumacker: We have a lot of hope. I think we feel pretty good. We are hopeful.
Justin Halpern: I feel like people like the show. We don’t know, but we think from the vibes we’re getting from executives and people like that around the show that it’s going well for them. I feel like there’s a die-hard fan base and I don’t feel like DC has many other shows like it. So if ours were to disappear, I think it would leave a big void. We are hopeful.
