Mark Ruffalo is back. On Chris Hemsworth’s 39th birthday, the actor best known for playing Bruce Banner/Hulk posted a birthday message on Instagram for his longtime colleague and friend. The photo attached in the post is hilarious and goofy at the same time. Ruffalo, who replaced Edward Norton as the Incredible Hulk, was first seen in The Avengers (2012).

On the other hand, Hemsworth made his MCU debut with the 2011 movie, Thor. The two were seen together in The Avengers and since then has made several returns in various MCU endeavors. The most notable of the MCU films where the friendship between the two shone was Thor: Ragnarok.

Papa-Bod Thor has made a comeback once again, all thanks to Ruffalo and his Instagram post in honor of Hemsworth’s birthday. The Thor alum recently celebrated her birthday on August 11 and turned 39. To show their longtime camaraderie, Mark Ruffalo sent Chris Hemsworth all the birthday love” on Instagram. In the caption, Ruffalo wrote, “Be careful not to wake him. He must save his energy.

This marks daddy Bod Thor’s return in the best and goofiest way possible. It’s no shock that the two actors are close enough – close enough to share funny and embarrassing BTS photos. Ruffalo and Hemsworth as a couple and as a duo is an MCU element that many fans hold dear. Since 2019, the pair have not been seen together on the big screen and many fans wish they would bring their duo back soon.

Meanwhile, we’ll see Mark Ruffalo reprise the role of Bruce Banner/Hulk in the upcoming Disney+ series, She-Hulk: Lawyer. From the tidbits that have been teased, we can see Banner as a fun and playful mentor figure for cousin Jennifer Walters.
As for the original Avengers, only Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye remain. Will the future ever bring these three together, or will they just pass on the torch of their legacy to the franchise’s newest characters, to be seen soon.
