DC is moving forward with exit plan blue beetle in theaters by mid-2023 despite the current flurry of projects being dumped in the gutter by Warner Bros., and fans are freaking out that it might not see the light of day too. The unexpected cancellation of bat girl surely shocked everyone – the $90 million project was supposed to star Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser, and all was well with the movie nearing completion until it wasn’t.
However, blue beetle will still be published despite all cancellations. The film should be released later the flash hits theaters next year, so all we can do is sit back and hope everything goes as planned.

The movie is going to have a pretty big cast
First, Jamie Reyes’ boots are going to be filled by Xolo Mariduena, his love interest Penny will be played by Bruna Marquezine, and the film’s two antagonists – Carapax and Victoria Kord, will be played by Raoul Trujillo and Susan Sarandon respectively.

film for blue beetle started on May 25 of this year and, according to Raoul Trujillo, was almost finished on July 18. However, the film is still in production, with several other aspects still being worked on.

Landing the lead role means a lot to Xolo Mariduena
After impressing viewers in the martial arts comedy-drama Cobra Kaithe young prospect is set to play the character of Jamie Reyes, and he thinks it’s quite a leap to land a serious role in a film produced by a production company as big as DC.

During an interview with Variety, Mariduena shared her thoughts on landing the role at this point in her life.
“I’ve been lucky enough to build chemistry with these people over the years on Cobra Kai. Trying to recreate that chemistry in a much shorter time is going to be tough, but all of these guys are professionals. I know I’m in the hands of people who are the best at what they do. The opportunity at Cobra Kai has truly blessed me; I can do stunts, we can do crazy stuff. Adding this new level of green screen and combinations and CGI and all of that will add a whole new crazy level that I’m so excited for.
blue beetle is slated for a theatrical release in the United States on August 18, 2023.
