Bryce Dallas Howard recently discussed the pay disparity between her and her co-star Chris Pratt on the jurassic world movies, revealing that Pratt helped fight for pay equity in the franchise.
Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt appeared as co-leads in all three jurassic world movies since the first film was released in 2015. However, recent reports have emerged that Howard was paid less than Pratt and the actress has confirmed that the disparity is even greater than reports suggested.
However, the actress then revealed that Chris Pratt fought for pay equity over the pay difference guaranteed by their initial contracts for the franchise.
Speaking to Insider recently, Bryce Dallas Howard revealed it jurassic world the pay was “so much less” than reports had suggested.
A 2018 Variety report claimed that Bryce Dallas Howard was paid $8 million for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom while Chris Pratt was paid $10 million. Howard revealed that she was actually “paid a lot less than the reports said, a lot less.”
The actress revealed:
“When I started to negotiate for Jurassic, it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a huge disadvantage. And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your offers are set.
However, Bryce Dallas Howard went on to say that after talking to co-star Chris Pratt about the situation, he continued to negotiate on his behalf for all aspects where the salary had yet to be decided. This included revenue from theme park rides and video games. Pratt ensured that he and Howard received the same salary for these linked media:
“What I will say is that Chris and I discussed it, and whenever there was an opportunity to move the needle on things that hadn’t been negotiated yet, like a game or a ride , he literally said to me, ‘You guys don’t even have to do anything. I’m going to do all the negotiating. We’re going to be paid the same, and you don’t have to think about it, Bryce.
“And I love him so much for doing that. Really, because I got paid more for this stuff than I ever did for the movie.
While the salary had already been negotiated for the third and final jurassic world film, DominationPratt has at least managed to secure a fairer salary arrangement for Bryce Dallas Howard on spin-off media that franchises blockbusters like the Jurassic series inevitably spawns.
