New concept art shows Karl Urban entering the MCU to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Marvel’s x-men to restart.
Hugh Jackman first delivered his iconic version of Wolverine in the 2000s x-mengoing on to play the character nine times, culminating in a dramatic swansong in 2017 Logan. With Marvel now teasing the arrival of mutants in the MCU, it seems likely they’ll be recasting Logan for a new version of the X-Men.
As fans debate who could possibly take Jackman’s clutches, one contestant has already proven his worth as a brutal anti-hero in a superhero world – The boys starring Karl Urban.
The concept design shared by the “arifinity” artist on Instagram transforms Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher into Marvel’s new Wolverine, making Urban a fitting replacement for Hugh Jackman.
The image shows Karl Urban, who recently appeared as Butcher in the third season of The boys on Amazon Prime Video, wielding Wolverine’s signature claws and dog tags with a suitably bloodied face. He’s certainly relishing the task of reprising the role that Hugh Jackman has made iconic.

Judging by Urban’s performance in the comic book adaptations The boys and Dredhe would be more than ready to master the savagery that comes with a character like Wolverine and should have no problem inheriting that berserker rage from Hugh Jackman.
Karl Urban can now be seen in The boys Season 3. Here is the synopsis:
It has been a quiet year. Homelander is overpowered. Butcher works for the government, overseen by Hughie of All. But both men are eager to turn that peace and tranquility into blood and bone. So when the boys learn of a mysterious anti-supe weapon, it sends them crashing into all seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first superhero: Soldier Boy.
The boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Jensen Ackles and Paul Reiser.
