Ahead of his upcoming return as Bruce Banner in She-HulkMark Ruffalo has said he’s ready to return to the big screen for Marvel in a world war hulk film.
First appearance as Bruce Banner in 2012 The AvengersMark Ruffalo has played the character in several crossover appearances, but has yet to direct a Hulk solo film (the only MCU solo film featuring the character, The Incredible Hulk, with Edward Norton as Banner). One storyline that fans can’t wait to see adapted is world war hulk.
Speaking to the She-Hulk premiere, Ruffalo said he was ready to participate in a world war hulk movie as soon as Marvel calls.
Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, though relegated to supporting roles in various team-up movies, has endured a compelling character arc during his time in the MCU.
Following initial mistrust between the characters of Bruce Banner and Hulk, Hulk and Banner have recently learned to work together, combining Banner’s mind with Hulk’s body as seen in Avengers: Endgame. Now, though, it might be time for the more monstrous Hulk to make a comeback in a world war hulk script.
Entertainment Tonight spoke with Mark Ruffalo at She-Hulk first, ask about a few potential clues to a world war hulk story in the upcoming Disney Plus series. When asked if he would return for a solo world war hulk movie, Ruffalo said “Anytime they want to do it, I’m here.”
marvel’s world war hulk comic event followed the Planet Hulk storyline, elements of which were adapted for the MCU in Thor: Ragnarok. He saw Hulk return to Earth and turn on his fellow heroes.
While Universal currently owns the distribution rights to all standalone Hulk films, which previously prevented Marvel Studios from working on solo projects featuring Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, the advent of Disney Plus could see world war hulk adapted as a series for the streaming service.

“She-Hulk: Lawyer follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single 30-something lawyer who also appears to be a 6-foot-7 green superpowered hulk.
The series stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
