Since the death of Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, fans wondered which next villain would bring the heroes of the MCU together. At the end of the Disney+ series Lokiviewers were teased with a variant of the One Who Remains, called Kang the Conqueror, who we now know is the next big bad.

After many variants of He Who Remains were released because he was killed by Sylvie, he stated that if she thought he was evil, she should encounter his variants. The fifth installment of avengers including Kang as the villain was announced at San Diego Comic-Con by Kevin Feige in July.
Is Kang really the main villain?
Although he’s billed as the big bad in future MCU movies, fans think he could play second fiddle to another iconic villain. In the comics, Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom is the one who defeats Kang the Conqueror.

He gathers the powers and information needed to defeat Kang and waits for the opportune moment to act, while the Avengers battle Kang and his dynasty. At the right time, after defeating the Kang, Doctor Doom immediately takes over.
Doctor Doom’s future in the MCU
Since The Fantastic Four is already announced before Avengers: Kang Dynasty, we can easily anticipate the Doctor Doom feature in the next installment of the MCU. With the film confirmed to not be an origin story, the villain is expected to observe MCU heroes in the backdrop.

Fans expect to see Doctor Doom reinvent the universe and introduce Battleworld and the Secret Wars. Having learned about magic, teleportation, and time travel from the comics, fans expect to see those abilities taken into account in MCU’s Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Kang Dynasty is set to finish production and hit theaters in May 2025.
