She-Hulk: Lawyer Showrunner Jessica Gao continued to tease Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the upcoming series.
Charlie Cox is back in full force as Daredevil, who is set to appear in many upcoming projects from Marvel Studios. But it’s also a first for Marvel Studios since Cox first portrayed the character in a Netflix series that might not be considered canon for the mainline MCU. There hasn’t been a clear answer on this, but it looks like Cox will be playing a new version of the character. With Daredevil set to appear in She-Hulk: Lawyer next, here’s what series creator Jessica Gao said ComicBook.com:
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it, but it’s very conscious and very planned. That’s all I can say.”
Jessica Gao also recently shared that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will be lighter compared to how we’ve seen it in the past, and it looks like it won’t be the only one portrayed in a more comedic way:
“We were like, ‘That’s our version,’ and that’s true for any character. Like every character we’ve used that existed in the MCU, it gets a little bit different on our show because you see them in very dramatic roles like these high-pressure, high-stakes situations, but on our show because our show is more of a slice of life, they can sort of take a break. They can take a little vacation. Of course, after our show, they can go back to save the world, save the universe, a very serious and intense story but in our show, they can just take a little break and when the universe is not in game like, ‘What’s up with you?’ They get the chance to really explore a different part of their character, because not everyone can be 10 to save the world every minute of every day.
Do not be afraid…
Over the years, many MCU characters have been transferred from creator to creator. For example, Joss Whedon’s Captain America was different than what the Russo Brothers did with it. The same goes for how the Russos have handled Spider-Man compared to the solo films directed by Jon Watts. It’s no different from the comics, and it’s safe to say that Daredevil’s interpretation in She-Hulk will be slightly different from what we get in the born again series.
Here is the synopsis of She-Hulk: Lawyer:
“She-Hulk: Lawyer follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single 30-something lawyer who also appears to be a 6-foot-7 green superpowered hulk.
The series stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
She-Hulk: Lawyer premieres August 18 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming series and subscribe to the Heroic Hollywood YouTube channel for more original video content.
