Conspiracy theorists consider these images of Apollo 17 as PROOF of the moon landing hoax.
Despite visual and photographic evidence of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong hoisting the American flag on the moon, many people still believe the Apollo 11 moon landing was a US government hoax.
Despite six confirmed manned moon landings between 1969 and 1972, a school of conspiracy theorists would have you believe that staging the landing was significantly cheaper and easier than actually carrying it out. A space enthusiast said that while watching a film of the 1972 Apollo 17 mission, he noticed a strange human shape in the mirror of one of the astronauts’ visors.

Commander Gene Cernan, Lunar Module Pilot Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, and Command Module Pilot Ronald Evans were the last humans to set foot on the moon during the Apollo 17 mission. But a YouTube video with the title “the reflection of a visor. Where is the camera reflection from the snapshot being taken? said the photograph of the visor could be evidence of fraud, as explained in the 2017 video by YouTuber Streetcap1. Because the person was allegedly not wearing a spacesuit, the content creator claimed that a reflection of one of the astronauts in his visor appeared to reveal a “machinist”. “You can see what appears to be a long-haired man in the early 1970s wearing some sort of vest…and, presumably, a shadow of that figure”, the narrator said as he described the figure with his mouse, “Where’s that guy’s spacesuit?” Later in the clip, which has been viewed around three million times, Streetcap1 continues.
While some applauded the YouTuber and agreed with the findings, not everyone was convinced by the alleged discovery.

According to many conspiracy theories, the US government lied about going to the moon in order to outrun other countries and win the “space race”. However, although such claims are refuted by space scientists, the most absurd claims are made.
Some claim that despite the emptiness of space, the American flag seemed to move in the breeze. The reason given by NASA is that there would be no breeze to maintain the vertical position of the flag in space, which would lead to an inferior photograph. The New York Post noted that some people have said stars don’t appear in images and different shadows don’t seem to line up with light sources.
