The first reviews have arrived for Marvel’s She-Hulk: Lawyer and the series got off to a good start on Rotten Tomatoes.
She-Hulk is the latest Marvel series coming to Disney Plus, featuring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s cousin who finds herself transformed into the Incredible She-Hulk. The series, which sees Jennifer continue her legal career after gaining her powers, has been described as a “half-hour legal comedy”.
While Marvel Studios is no stranger to comedy, She-Hulk: Lawyer seems to push the humor a little further and it seems that the bet is paying off.
At the time of writing, She-Hulk: Lawyer sits at an impressive 95% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 77 reviews.
Although Rotten Tomatoes scores are subject to change as new reviews arrive, and although critics’ scores may not always match those of the public, this is a positive early sign for She-Hulk. Early reactions praised Marvel’s fun new legal comedy, and the sentiment carries over to the series’ early reviews.
Examiners call She-Hulk ‘hilarious’ with the show’s fourth wall breaking comedy – something ripped straight from Marvel She-Hulk comics – also proving a popular talking point. The series looks set to deliver a more fun and ironic take on the MCU.
She-HulkThis week’s release will see if the general public agrees with the critics, but after initial concerns over the footage seen in the series’ first trailer, it looks like She-Hulk is ready to shatter all doubts.
