She-Hulk will surprise MCU fans. Its style and tone are so drastically different from the rest of the shared universe that it almost feels detached. It’s its own unique entity, using characters and plot details from the MCU to create its own self-contained world. The episodes are fast-paced, averaging about thirty minutes for the first four episodes, but those thirty minutes are filled with fantastic stories, interesting characters, and enough laughs to give you six pack abs.
Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) is She-Hulk, a title she despises but retains thanks to the media. She’s a successful lawyer, an independent woman, and the cousin of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). Through a series of unfortunate events, she ends up with powers similar to those of the Hulk. Now she struggles to balance her normal life with that of six feet and seven inches tall She-Hulk. It won’t always be easy, but it certainly won’t be boring.

She-Hulk is a sitcom, from start to finish. It’s the kind of show you could slam a laugh track on and find on Fox’s Friday night TV lineup in the late ’90s. I say that as the biggest of compliments. A thing that Wanda Vision proven with its early episodes, is that taking super powerful beings and placing them in the style and tropes of classic television works, and works very good.
There’s so much to love She-Hulk. Tatiana Maslany is perfect in every way. She captures the essence of the single woman, struggling to prove herself in the face of established barriers; like Ally McBeal but with a towering stature, green complexion, and super strength. Maslany’s comedic timing and delivery is spot on. Marvel has been criticized for its overreliance on comedy in movies like Thor: Love and Thunder; however, this series is designed being a comedy and the humor in it feels useful and effortless; Therefore, She-Hulk is the funniest entry in the MCU.
Certainly, She-Hulk the first episode feels a bit like filler and fluff. It lays the groundwork for establishing Jennifer Walters as a character and allows her story to flow smoothly throughout subsequent episodes. With each episode, I fell a little more in love with these characters. I wanted more, and thankfully this is a series that feels endlessly re-watchable. With nine episodes, this journey has only just begun. Remember that only the first four episodes were provided to me, so this review is only for those. However, I can’t wait to see where the series goes, and I can only hope we get more. She-Hulk in the future.
My #SheHulk the viewing experience went as follows:
Ep 1: I’m not on board.
Ep 2: I’m coming.
Ep. 3: Ok, I love it.
Ep 4: Is This My Favorite MCU Show? The first episode is mostly stuffed, but once you get settled into the tone, it’s such a fun watch.#MarvelStudios #DisneyPlus pic.twitter.com/gCXfLWUWZA

Filled with laughs, stellar performances, and enough cameos to please even the pickiest MCU fan, She-Hulk might end up being my favorite Marvel series to date. A powerful homage to the drama/comedy, legal series that was so popular once upon a time. 8.5/10
