Mortal Kombat is a video game with a massive story, currently featuring eleven mainline video games, spin-offs, comics, novels, and previous video game adaptations, none particularly great. Fortunately, the most recent video game adaptation was good to good (other than Cole Young), and the upcoming sequel lets us discuss the 7 characters we need in the mortal combat after…
7. Johnny Cage
The most obvious entry in the list of 7 characters we need in the mortal combat sequel, and to be honest, the most guaranteed. After the end of the first film, both with the poster on the wall and the dialogue with Cole Young and his former coach, it seems obvious that we will have the Hollywood actor icon in the sequel.
6. Noob Saibot
Another obvious character who is a shoo-in for the sequel after the events of the first film. Sub-Zero succumbs to the combined power of Scorpion and Cole Young. In mortal combat tradition, Sub-Zero dies and is reborn by Shang Tsung as Noob Saibot, and that definitely seems to be the path they’re going.

5.Kenshi
A blind swordsman with fantastic combat and telekinetic abilities, he has a long history and a hatred of Shang Tsung, and it wouldn’t be hard to use that as a reason to bring him in for the sequel. Moreover, his particular skills would be far removed from what was already on screen in the first one.
4. Reptiles
Debuting in the original game as a secret, hidden character, Reptile is a humanoid with a face full of reptiles. Terrifying and cunning in equal measure, he’s an Outworlder with direct ties to many of the series’ villains, so again, it wouldn’t take much to find a way to get him in.
3. Night Wolf
A Native American relying on his trusty tomahawk to do the majority of the damage he deals, Nightwolf can also imbibe his green, mystical energy, and aside from Raiden, there’s a distinct lack of energy manipulators in the first film. .
2. D’Vorah
With some of the most gruesome deaths in the entire franchise, D’Vorah is an insect-like woman who can transform her body into a swarm of insects at any moment, devouring her enemies. As if that wouldn’t look both graphic, unsettling and amazing on the big screen.

1. Baraka
My first choice in the list of 7 characters we need in the mortal combat sequel, is an Outworld humanoid with his own motivations and agendas, Baraka is all teeth and blades. A general in Tarkatan’s army, he spent most of the franchise’s history as the antagonist of the main group, the loyal Shao Kahn and his daughter, Mileena. As a reminder, Mileena was gruesomely killed off in the first movie, so a motive for revenge from Baraka doesn’t exactly push the boundaries of her character.
