Who is Matheau Moore from Westerville, Ohio? Emily Noble murder trial begins
More than a year after Matheau Moore’s arrest and the alleged murder of his wife, his trial finally opened on Tuesday.
On May 24, 2020, Emily Noble turned 52 and she shared the occasion with her spouse Matheau Moore.
The two visited a number of restaurants in Westerville, Ohio, before heading home to bed. Moore, 50, decided to sleep in the spare bedroom after getting up in the middle of the night to use the toilet so as not to wake his wife.
When he woke up at 10 a.m., Noble had already left, taking her phone, keys, wallet and car with her. Shortly after, Moore reported his wife missing, but even then speculation of her “disappearance” persisted.

Who is Matheau Moore from Westerville, Ohio?
According to the prosecution, Matheau Moore killed his wife between May 24 and May 25, 2020. He reported Noble missing on May 25. Noble pretended to be asleep when he left the house without his car, keys, wallet or cellphone.
He handed out posters and pleaded with the producers of “The Vanished Podcast” to publicize his wife’s case as a missing person in the months that followed.
Throughout the roughly hour-and-a-half-long presentation, Moore made some odd comments about Noble.
Search teams were led by hundreds of volunteers in the days and weeks following Noble’s abduction. According to People, Moore apparently hasn’t been there once. His close friends were baffled as to why he never participated.
On The Vanished Podcast, Noble’s close friend Jeff said he was able to see through Moore’s account of the night she disappeared.
On September 16, 2020, Noble’s body was found hanging from a tree in a rural area not far from the couple’s home. Due to the severity of his body’s decomposition, they had to send his remains for a bone and strangulation study.
People said Noble’s facial and neck fractures indicated she had likely been strangled. Investigators also discovered that the scene where she was found had been set up to make it look like she had taken her own life.

Emily Noble was reported missing in May 2020. Her body was found four months later, in September, in a wooded area not far from her Westerville home.
Investigators then concluded that his death had been staged to look like a suicide. When discovered, she was wearing a USB cord around her neck.
The trial will at least in part focus on whether his death was indeed a suicide, according to court documents submitted in the days leading up to the trial.
It will be proven by the testimony of an expert witness that suicide cannot be totally excluded as a cause of death. When the prosecution learned of this, they asked the judge for more time so they could find an expert witness to challenge it. Although they asked for a postponement, the judge denied their request.
Their request for a review of the judgment was also rejected. So, about 14 months after Moore was indicted, the trial began.
Currently, where is Matheau Moore? Update of his case
Moore pleaded not guilty to one count of felony assault and felony murder. He has denied the charges and remains in custody after posting $2.5 million bond.
The 12 regular jurors and 4 alternate jurors were chosen on the day of his indictment.
A view of the jury – essentially a field trip – was taken by the members of the jury. Before heading to the exact location where Noble’s body was found in a nearby forest area, they first spotted the house where Moore and Noble lived. A real golf ball was used to mark the location.
Following the opinion of the jury, the jurors were relieved of their duties for the day.
