Appearing in an interview, recently The social network Star Jesse Eisenberg has revealed his thoughts on the hate his character received in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Jesse Eisenberg played iconic villain Lex Luthor in the DC movie. According to him, the hatred received by his character and his role in dawn of justice felt much more personal to him as he put a lot of time and effort into the role. dawn of justice was the second film in the DCEU and featured two of DC’s biggest personalities, Superman and Batman clashing.

Injustice to Jesse Eisenberg?
Superman V Batman: Dawn of Justice was an entirely new approach attempted by Warner Bros. and DC to create a vast cinematic universe of themselves, much like their MCU rival. Directed by Zack Snyder, the film had very big ambitions since for the first time Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) were shown together in real action. But things didn’t go as planned and drew a lot of criticism.

Eisenberg said the hate he received was very personal. He explained that he really put a lot of thought and work into his character so he didn’t like it when people hated him.
“I felt very personal about it,” he said. “The writer, Chris Terrio, is a very serious writer, and he’s a very emotional person. He thought a lot about my character, and I thought a lot about my character too. I talked a lot with my coach of the character’s acting, his backstory with his dad, and his emotional life — and then people hate me.
dawn of justice also garnered several negative reviews due to the film’s tone and main plot. Holding a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s safe to say the film failed to give the DCEU a smooth start as expected.

Even though Jesse Eisenberg isn’t a comic book fan, he confessed that he would feel amazing if he got another DC movie. He added that he would feel genuinely shocked by the news, but it would be a pleasant shock for him:
“I would be shocked if I found myself in a DC movie, but it would be a pleasant shock”
Following this, when the actor was asked if he was ready to return to any other superhero projects, he confidently replied that he was ready to return to this genre as he enjoys trying to act. different roles:
“Yeah. Because as an actor you do all kinds of different things, and sometimes great roles show up in really commercial stuff and sometimes terrible roles show up in independent films.
Eisenberg’s last appearance was in the Justice League post-credits scene and as we all know the fate of that film and the state of the DCEU after its release, it’s hard to say if we can spot him again as Lex. Luthor in DCEU.
