Dr. Sonja Hood officially takes office as president, two new board members revealed
The North Melbourne Kangaroos are delighted to share the news that Dr Sonja Hood has taken over as the club’s new official chairman, succeeding Ben Buckley who held the position for the previous two years.
She comes into the position following the addition of Andrew Harris and Rodney Piltz to the Kangaroos board. Andrew Harris and Rodney Piltz are both part of the Match Committee coterie group.
Dr Hood is currently the Managing Director of Community Hubs Australia (CHA), a national collaboration that promotes social cohesion and supports migrant and refugee families in their efforts to connect, share and learn. Since 2019, Dr Hood has been a member of the North Melbourne Board of Trustees.
Over the past five years, she has used her expertise in government relations, strategy, fundraising and organizational development to grow CHA from 39 locations in four states to over 100 locations in all of those states.

Harris and Piltz are two new board members who come to the club after serving on the club’s finance and audit committee and the club’s integrity committee, respectively.
Since 2006, the founder and managing partner of Harris Carlson Lawyers, Harris Carlson, has provided the club with honorary legal advice. Harris Carlson Lawyers is a commercial law firm.
