Colin Trevorrow Throws Shade At Jurassic World Dominion Theatrical Cut

Colin Trevorrow apparently threw shade at the theatrical cut of his film, Jurassic World Dominion.

In June, Universal Pictures released the third and final entry in the jurassic world trilogy, Jurassic World Dominion. The film saw the return of director Colin Trevorrow behind the camera, who previously directed the 2015 record-breaking legacy sequel, co-wrote the screenplay for its 2018 sequel, fallen kingdomand was tied to the bar Star Wars: Episode IX for Lucasfilm before ultimately parting ways with the project due to creative differences.

The film received mixed to negative reviews from critics, the worst-received film of the trilogy (and the six films, including the first three jurassic park entries). The film has still grossed over $979 million worldwide and is now available on home media. With its release, a special Extended Edition restores 14 minutes of cut footage from the film. In promotion of its release, Colin Trevorrow tweeted a photo from the exclusive Target Steelbook release of the film, with a tweet that seemed to throw shade at the theatrical cut:

In some ways, one can’t help but feel that Colin Trevorrow is a bit bummed that the extended edition of his film isn’t the theatrical cut released by Universal Pictures. It didn’t help that this sequel was received quite negatively, and perhaps the Extended Edition brought massive improvements to the quality of the film, much like Zack Snyder’s Ultimate Edition. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was deemed superior to the theatrical cut, which was heavily criticized by critics.

Here is the synopsis of Colin Trevorrow’s film:
