‘It’s Not Blade’: Jamie Foxx Says Day Shift Shouldn’t Be Compared To 1998 Film, Says His Vampire Hunt Film Is More ‘Practical’

In a recent interview, Foxx, who was seen as secret vampire hunter Bud Jablonski, explained how Netflix’s latest attempt shouldn’t be compared to the 1998 cult classic. Blade, written by David S. Jamie Foxx says his film is ‘hands-on’

Sitting down to talk to Collider’s Steve Weintraub, actors Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco talked about the shooting treats, including what they thought of the opening action sequence, JJ Perry’s efforts to balance the comedy and action elements, and the challenges of filming in a tight and compact schedule. In his response, Foxx mentioned how people compared the film with the 1998 Blade, which was based on the Marvel comics and featured the character of the same name. Blade, as a film, is renowned for being charismatic, action-packed, and stylish among film critics. However, Foxx pointed out how the premise of Day shift is more “practice”compared to the film directed by Stephen Norrington.

“Here’s the thing. I think that’s what’s ingenious about the film. That makes him a blue collar. It’s like people say “Blade”. I said, “No, you have to see it. It’s not Blade. It’s not that. ” It is convenient. He’s a guy who collects teeth to raise money so he can take care of his child. And it just so happens to be the craziest world we all fall into.

Jamie Foxx went on to explain how his character, Bud, is involved in such a crazy world. “My character has been in it for a while,” He said. When it comes to the question of a potential sequel movie, Foxx pointed out that he has his fingers crossed. Here’s what Foxx had to say about a sequel to the film:

“…Hope people cross their fingers and start watching this [Day Shift], make it super hot so we can do Night Shift. And then we can do this thing together.

At the end of the interview, Dave Franco, with a hint of humor, added to these future possibilities and said: “The third is Graveyard Shift.” Fans of the film will now have to wait for confirmation of the plausibility of a future opus.
